What Color Are You?

Today at work one of the kids gave me a test to tell me what color person I am. Turns out I am BLUE! What does that mean?

Blue Strengths:
Like the earth which sustained and nurtured our earliest ancestors, BLUES are also steady, ordered and enduring. They grant us culture, beauty and emotional sincerity. BLUES love with a passion. They see the finer things in life as intimate relationships and creative accomplishments rather than material possessions. They bring culture and decency to home and society. They appreciate uplifting experiences and feel most comfortable in creative and productive environments. They want a sense of purpose in their life and willingly sacrifice personal luxuries in order to attain more meaningful accomplishments.

They are highly committed individuals. Loyalty to people and sincerity in relationships at home and work are their trademarks. They believe in all causes that bring a higher quality to the human experience. They listen with endearing empathy and speak with emotional zeal. Blues truly value their connectedness to people and enjoy the accomplishments of others. With perfection as their guide, they stretch for the best they can find from within themselves. They expect the same in their fellow beings. Obediently, they accept the need for authority and put their energy into supporting law and order. They are essentially the glue that binds society together. BLUES give us cause to prioritize our lives, giving preference to personal relationships and quality achievements. They add that special touch of excellence as they freely commit their hearts and souls to the betterment of us all in our shared journey through life.

Great minds think alike.....or do they?

Why is it that when I write about issues that I am passionate about no one seems to comment, but when I write about making caramel apples at least six people comment right off the bat? Are people afraid of real life issues? Do they like to stay away from touchy subjects? I agree that at times situations can be uncomfortable when opinions of others don't match up with your own, but I think we need to get over that fear of being uncomfortable. Let us talk to other people and explore their opinions and core values. We need to turn that fear into love and understanding. It is okay to not agree, but I feel it is a disservice to yourself not to explore outside of your own thought bubble.

Herb Garden

I have been wanting to start an herb garden on my balcony, and today is the day that I finally started my research to put this dream into works. Here's a great link to use if you want to have a handy dandy herb garden as well! :)
